Role of Ayurveda in Detoxifying our Body

There is a myriad of methods and medicines for optimizing the process of detoxification of your body. You should know that your body gets equipped with all the necessary mechanisms and organs that help to eliminate toxins from your body. The supplementary stuff you do is to optimize the natural process of detoxification.

With specific regulations on your food consumption and daily activity, you can easily enhance the detoxification process. Drinking an adequate amount of water, taking less salt, and drinking less alcohol are easy ways to do so.

However, Ayurveda also provides effective ways of enhancing the whole detoxification process. For detoxification, the followers of Ayurveda try to follow a traditional diet. They also engage in regular Detoxification of the Body and mind by which they believe that they get rid of the illness. But many experts are skeptical about the Ayurvedic methods of detoxification.

In Ayurveda, it is believed that the world is made up of five elements called Pancha-tattvas. Those are – Prithvi (earth), Vayu (air), Teja (fire), Aakash (space), and Jala (water).

Different combinations of these five fundamental elements are said to form other senses of humor called doshas. There are mainly three doshas, viz. Kapha, Vata, Pitta. To maintain better health, you need to have a good balance between these doshas. Whenever imbalances occur, you become ill, according to Ayurveda.

Now, we shall briefly ponder over various methods of Ayurvedic detoxification.

  1. Purvakarma and Panchakarma: Purva means before. So, Purvakarma means something that precedes the main job. Purvakarma usually involves steaming and oil massages.

Panchakarma is more intense. It also rejuvenates your body. It involves many sub-steps like Virechan (cleansing using medicinal powders and pastes), Nasya (clearing through the nasal cavity using herbal oils and fumes), Rakta moksha (detoxification of the blood), etc.

It entirely depends on your doshas, which treatments you take.

  1. Diet: Each dosha asks for a different diet. You can consult a practitioner of Ayurved to procure your specific diet plan for your dosha type. But still, you are supposed to refrain from consuming any food item which facilitates the toxin buildup in your body, like cigarettes, alcohol, caffeine, etc. Drinking more water is prescribed. These minor modifications in your diet are also supported by modern medical science.
  2. Mindfulness and meditation: Meditation helps you get disconnected from your daily distractions, reduces stress and anxiety, and gives a bold sense of self-awareness.

Mindfulness is defined as living and concentrating fully in the present moment. You should practice mindfulness while eating, exercising, and doing other activities.

The most significant loophole of Ayurvedic detox methods is the lack of evidence in support of the methods applied. Yet nowadays, you will find a lot of Ayurvedic medicines. To detoxify your body, you should try Liwo’s Daily Detox. Many people have already tried it and found it beneficial for them. It shows results within a week. Taking it continuously for three months will help you to detox your body daily.

However, we recommend consulting a physician before trying any new product.
